Press Release: The Jericho Foundation Announce New Chair of the Board of Trustees

On 18th May 2017 Martin Warner was elected Chair of The Jericho Foundation Board of Trustees. Martin took over this role from Mike Thomas, who has been an outstanding Chair for the last decade.

Martin is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is the co-founder and Chairman of Michelmersh Holdings plc, the fourth largest brick business in the UK. Mike is an international businessman with considerable experience of creating and executing profitable changes in a diverse range of operations. Mike will remain on the Board as a Trustee with specific responsibility for overseeing Social Enterprise activity.

Martin said “I am honoured to be taking on this role at such a crucial time. Jericho is an exceptional and innovative organisation, faithfully serving some of the most disadvantaged people in Birmingham.  We have a great team and an excellent vision, and I look forward to playing my part in the next chapter of our journey together”.

Mike said “I feel very privileged to have been involved with Jericho for so long. I am excited by the new plans under development, which will have a positive impact on even more local people in need. Martin has exactly the right attributes to help put these plans in place and I will do all I can to support him and the Jericho team to do so”.

The Jericho Foundation is a charity which breaks down barriers in society and supports disadvantaged people to become Fulfilled, Skilled and Employed. Jericho works with a broad variety of deprived people who are struggling including young people, ex-offenders, homeless people and Survivors of Modern Slavery. They provide work experience or paid employment in their eco-friendly Social Enterprises.
