What is Ignition Pathways?

Ignition Pathways equips churches, community organisations, charities and voluntary groups to deliver practical, grass-roots job search support and guidance for unemployed people in their local communities. The aim is to help job-seekers tackle issues which hinder them finding employment and equip them with knowledge, skills, practical support and encouragement to search for work effectively.

For many people, securing employment is not a simple or straightforward journey. They may face several barriers and have wider needs, where some broader, holistic support is needed before they are ready to enter the workforce. This is where Ignition Pathways comes in.

Coaching Skills Workshops

Coaching is about empowering conversations which be powerful catalysts for progress and change. Supporting somebody on their journey to take small steps can be life-changing.

Our coaching skills workshops equip attendees with a simple but effective model and the tools and techniques to have such conversations and assess wider needs with a view to making referrals into specialist support as appropriate.

“In conversations where I have used coaching techniques, I have noticed that the confidence of a beneficiary has greatly improved and they have felt more able to make choices about their future that they feel are achievable.” - recent coaching workshop attendee

Employability Skills Workshops

Our one-day workshop provides training and support to equip people with the skills they need to deliver practical job search support and guidance to local unemployed people. Attendees receive a set of support guides and workbooks which can be used as one-to-one support either face to face or remotely, or in a group setting.

Ignition Pathways is designed to make sure that people who are most disadvantaged are able to access job vacancies, prepare good quality applications, prepare for interviews, secure jobs and sustain employment.

By employing learning from our workshops and manuals those we train are able to offer practical, holistic support in a variety of contexts. Identifying and sending along volunteers to our training can build capacity to support local people within an organisation without putting additional pressure on admin and existing resources.
