Equipping churches, community groups and charities to provide practical job search support to unemployed people in their local areas

What is Ignition?

Ignition is a training programme designed to equip churches, community organisations, charities and voluntary groups to deliver practical job search support and guidance for unemployed men and women in their local community providing job seekers with the knowledge, skills, practical support and encouragement to help them search for work effectively.

Passionate and willing volunteers are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver help to job seekers. Through this knowledge and confidence Ignition Job Search Course helps to set up a job club or run employability workshops, provide one-to-one support or just general advice.

We run a 2 day or 1 intense day workshop sessions that are interactive as well as informative. An Ignition training resource manual accompanies both sessions and provides comprehensive and ready to use session plans, hand-outs and extension activity resources are all included.

How does Ignition benefit the job seeker?

People will receive practical help and support with writing a CV, completing job applications, interview preparation and much more.  They will also benefit from being accepted, welcomed, listened to and encouraged to keep going with their job search.

What does Ignition training cost?

We do not charge for the training however we do ask for a suggested gift donation of £80 for the 2 day workshop or £50 towards the 1 day training.

Ongoing Support

Organisations that have gone through the Ignition training then receive ongoing support from The Jericho Foundation and are invited to be part of a support network alongside other Job Clubs, employability projects and organisations.

We also work with other training providers to offer additional training workshops and collaborative working.
