What’s the job?

We are seeking a qualified senior electrician who is not only technically proficient but who can also manage and develop a small team of electricians, develop new business and provide excellent customer service.

You will be joining a friendly, inclusive and talented general building team with fantastic reputation for delivering the highest quality building work in the greater Birmingham area.

  • Competitive salary based on experience / £34-42k (Performance based reviews) .

Main Duties & Responsibilities

You will be responsible managing and developing our electrical business, carrying out a variety of electrical installations, maintenance, and fault-finding tasks both on Jericho Construction projects and for external customers and other builders. In addition, you will play a key role in training our apprentices and more junior electrical staff, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge to succeed.

  • Business development

  • Customer relationship management

  • Quoting and estimating projects

  • Supervising a small team of electrical staff/apprentices and providing mentoring and training

  • Performing electrical installations, testing, maintenance and repairs

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues accurately and efficiently

  • Working closely with Jericho Construction team members, while also taking the initiative to work independently

  • Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company standards

  • Delivering excellent customer service, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers

Person specification

Essential

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regs

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent

  • Inspection and testing qualification 2391

  • Electrical experience of at least 5 years

  • Full driving license

  • Excellent fault-finding and technical skills

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for work quality

  • Confidence and enthusiasm in training and supporting apprentices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Experience with solar installations, EV chargers, or renewable energy systems (eg BPEC Qualifications)

  • CSCS/ECS Card
